After several delays due to rain, the Purple Dragons finally opened up the Fall 2014 MBBL season. After scattering baserunners throughout the game without much to show for it, the Dragons came up big in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Big League Cutters by a score of 4-3.

Trailing 3-1 in the seventh, Kevin Ranson got the rally started by taking for the team, and was followed with a double from Jeff Miller. Dave Valletta and Dave Chesny each contributed RBI singles to tie the game, and Clem Healy then drew a walk to load the bases. Matthew Katona stepped to the plate and drew walk, driving in the game-winning run.

Birthday boy Eric Cramer had a good night at the plate, picking up his first multi-hit game since last fall. He later received a pie to the face to celebrate the occasion.

Next up, the Dragons look to clip the Orioles' wings on Saturday (10/18), 4pm at Flutie Athletic Complex.
