Offense Wakes Up and Takes Advantage of Pirates' Sloppy Play
The Dragons avoided losing their 5th straight contest on Sunday. Pitcher
Dave Chesny served up just what the doctor ordered, going the distance in a CG, 5H, 2R effort giving the rest of the staff some much needed rest with 3 games in 4 days starting. Chesny helped his cause with the bat as well going 1 for 1 with 3 walks on the day with an RBI.
The Dragons offense had been dormant until today only managing to score 4 runs in the last 4 games. With some help from sloppy play by the Pirates, the Dragons took advantage of 6 Pirate errors and added on 7 hits and 9 walks to push across 8 runs in the win. With the awakening offense,
Jeff Miller scored his 1st hit of the season while going 1 for 2 at the plate.
